LA’s infamous traffic is about to face its biggest challenge yet: the 2026 World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Olympics. As millions prepare to descend, the city is scrambling for mobility solutions — but the clock’s ticking, and some key upgrades might not be ready until after the games.
Urban Mobility: As LA grapples with gridlock, Archer Aviation is poised to offer a high-flying alternative. By 2026, Archer aims to replace hours of road travel with a 10- to 20-minute air taxi ride using electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles (eVTOLs).

Archer is launching pilot programs in cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and New York to drastically cut travel times with its eVTOL network, aiming to offer a seamless air alternative to congested roads. Partnering with Southwest Airlines to connect its air taxis with major airline routes, Archer is positioning itself as a leader in urban transportation.
The Midnight eVTOL, a four-passenger aircraft capable of 150 mph, is central to this vision. With support from global automaker, Stellantis, Archer is ramping up production and securing FAA certifications. By 2030, the company aims to produce up to 54 aircraft per month, paving the way for a broad air mobility network.
