Dubai’s New 1,247-Foot Super-Thin Luxury Residential Skyscraper

A new residential skyscraper, the Muraba Veil, is set to rise in Dubai, offering a bold vision from RCR Arquitectes in collaboration with developer Muraba.
The slender design spans just 74 feet (22.5 meters) in width, a strikingly narrow profile that is stretching the limits (or rather shrinking) the new aesthetic of contemporary luxury high-rise architecture.
Design Details: Announced this month, the development will be situated along the canal, featuring a design influenced by the region’s cultural and climatic conditions.
The 73-story tower will reach a height of 1,247 feet, offering two- to five-bedroom apartments. Among its unique amenities are a cavern-like indoor spa and a serene oasis tucked beneath its structural base.
Muraba Veil, Dubai’s New Pencil-thin Development
The Muraba Veil skyscraper will be located alongside the Dubai Canal, adjacent to Sheikh Zayed Road, providing residents with easy access to the city’s main destinations, along with scenic waterway and city views.
- Expected Completion: December 2028, adding a new landmark to Dubai’s skyline.
- Height: 1,247 feet.
- Apartments: 131 units, each spanning the entire width of the building for dual-aspect views in both directions.
In addition to the apartments, the tower will feature a spa, restaurant, art gallery, padel court, meeting rooms, a private cinema, and a “dune-like” communal space at its base.
“The structure, whose unusually narrow profile and appearance could only be achieved by the very latest design and engineering, is inspired by a domestic architecture that is centuries old, traditionally seeking to meet basic human needs for refuge, security, privacy and a close connection to nature.”
The building will be encased in a stainless steel mesh, or “veil,” which inspired its name. The design of the apartments draws from traditional local homes, with each unit organized around a reimagined “Arab courtyard.”
Alchemist City View: Dubai is famous for its ambitious skyline, including the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building at 2,717 feet. The city will soon add the Burj Azizi, which will reach 2,379 feet when completed in 2028.
According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, with more towers over 984 feet 300 meters) than any other city, Dubai is a global leader in super-tall architecture.
