West Harbor Development in San Pedro Moves to Phase Two with New Tenants and Attractions

Developers of the West Harbor complex in San Pedro have unveiled plans for the second phase of the $200 million waterfront redevelopment, adding new dining and entertainment options to the site that once housed Ports O’ Call Village.
Phase One Overview: Set to open next year, the first phase includes multi-tenant buildings hosting Harbor Breeze Cruises, immersive art experience Hopscotch, and restaurants such as Poppy + Rose, King and Queen Cantina, Mike Hess Brewing, and Mario’s Neighborhood Butcher Shop & Delicatessen.
New Additions in Phase Two. Phase two will introduce new food and entertainment venues, including:
- Restaurants and Cafés: Japanese-inspired Yamashiro, San Pedro pizzeria Miller Butler, Coffee with Crème & Sugar, and Oakberry Acai.
- Outdoor Courts and Rides: A 150-foot Ferris wheel, carousel, wave swinger, and courts for pickleball and padel operated by King of Padel.
- San Pedro Fish Market: The popular seafood market will remain at West Harbor, postponing previous plans for a separate $140 million complex. The first phase of the Fish Market’s new location will accommodate up to 1,600 guests, with a later expansion planned for up to 3,000 seats.
Future Phases and Attractions: In addition to the retail and dining spaces, the developers have proposed a hotel and a 6,200-seat amphitheater. The Nederlander Organization, known for its concert and theater productions, is set to manage the amphitheater, pending environmental approval.
A Modern Waterfront Destination
This redevelopment project, led by Jerico Development and Ratkovich Co., revitalizes the 42-acre site and aims to blend nostalgic elements with modern amenities. Wooden tall ships from the Los Angeles Maritime Institute will dock at West Harbor, creating a link to the site’s maritime heritage.
